What’s appropriate as a funeral song? This is a tricky question.
If you’ve created a tribute video for the deceased in the past, you might be apt to use that video as is, but sections of it may be too raucous for the settings.
Since many tribute videos are music and pictures primarily, a solution is to keep the pictures intact and change the songs or music.
I would recommend soft instrumentals, and a nostalgic vocal or two, such as “What a Wonderful World”, which is respectful, but positive.
Other examples are:
- Somewhere Over the Rainbow
- Goodbye’s the Saddest Word
- How Great Thou Art
- You’ll Never Walk Alone
- Dancing with My Father
- Wind Beneath My Wings
- Look on the Bright Side of Life
- Time to say Goodbye
- Many Selections from Brightman and Bocelli
- Ave Maria
- The Greatest Love of All
- Cycles (Frank Sinatra)
- Tears in Heaven
This should be a pretty quick edit, so while time is of the essence, the changeout of the music is quick and easy if you have access to the right libraries as well as these songs.
Now, your video is appropriate to use in a funeral home and is appropriate with the right funeral songs and instrumentals.
